In Search for Meaning?

It seems like I have been on and on about life the past couple of days and it probably has stuck in my head now that I am back to the point of questioning about life and what the meaning of existence is about.

I know the answer, but it just still doesn’t make sense, how we are all expected to just live life and get to the tail end which, guess what ‘everybody in this entire world is aware of’, …is death.

And like everybody, I have questions about life, questions about purpose, questions about the end goal of it all.

Don’t get me wrong though, I am a christian, I believe in God, the trinity and eternity, somedays I just like to look outside the certainty of eternal life with a more generalized perspective for everyone. Why is life just…in christian context…vanity.

All seems vainless, no matter what you do, no matter how impactful or impactless you make it, as we came to earth, we leave through same, returned to dust. I know man’s spirit is an aspect that should not be ignored, I am looking with just giving a bird-eye view of the physical existence at the moment.

I had a conversation with my boyfriend about this and there was something remarkable he noted, that “life is just as it is — life, that so many think it’s about getting wealth and reaching a goal, when the reality is that even when you reach your dream, you realize the only thing worth beating life at, is the elixir of everlasting life, the rich with all their money would give it all to have that, so at the end of the day, life is about living, and living fully”.

I know some people have the opinion that everlasting life doesn’t make sense, and that it is good to just go through one journey than a never ending journey, everyone can have their judgement, but I guess the choice wasn’t ours to make. Maybe if we experienced less pain, we would want a life much more than a 100 years.

And here we all are, on this earth, within our little spheres, setting benchmarks against each other, some others, scaling much higher, to be able to get to the tail end, face life and say with all boldness, ‘I lived’.

My endnote in all this, is that, life, being somewhat vainless, doesn’t give an excuse to limit growth, exploration, or creation, but that while we are at it, we take a moment to think of the possibilities in the ‘what next of the life after here, because there definitely is one…
